Self Storage with Style

Film   /

We’ve teamed up with inspirational Stylist Styled By Mel to make some films for Safestore, innovative self storage company. The first film was full of useful tips about how to get dressed each morning and avoid the ‘I’ve got nothing to wear’ panic.

In this film, we used lots of stop motion style shots to reflect Mel’s fun personality and her love of fashion. It’s fast paced and animated with a few special effects to show all the outfits side by side on screen. The trick behind this, was filming Mel in exactly the same place for each outfit ready to edit together in post production. Her feet were virtually blue-tacked to the floor – sorry Mel!

In the second film, we interviewed a group of ladies to find out why they were keeping items in their wardrobe that they no longer wear. Some lovely ladies were holding onto garments that haven’t been worn for over 16 years or more.

“If you want to immediately improve your life, detox your wardrobe. It’s often what we are holding onto that holds us back.”

Everyone connected with this project seems to have subsequently removed lots of clothing from their wardrobe that they no longer wear. It feels great.

A big thank you to all the people that took part. They were fantastic in front of the camera and we enjoyed their honest and fascinating stories. Both films can be found on the Safestore website and YouTube channel.
